Born and bred in Mauritius,
I moved to Scotland in 2008, and while I was busy looking after my two young kids, discovered my passion for baking.
It quickly became a therapeutic escape for me amidst the chaos of motherhood.
With the encouragement of my family and friends, I decided to turn my passion into a profession. In 2018, I officially launched Caked by Catherine, my very own cake designing business. Starting from my humble kitchen, I began taking orders for birthdays, weddings, and special occasions.
As I continue to grow and evolve as a cake designer, I am excited to take on new challenges and explore innovative techniques.

With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to perfection, I strive to bring dreams to life through my edible creations.
From elegant and minimalist designs to bold and vibrant masterpieces, I am dedicated to pushing the boundaries of cake artistry.
After discovering my talent for baking, I decided to take it a step further and enhance my skills. I enrolled in a few baking courses in Paris, the culinary capital of the world. These courses not only taught me new techniques and recipes but also exposed me to the artistry and precision that goes into creating exquisite edible art.
With each course, my passion for baking grew stronger. I found myself experimenting with different flavors, textures, and designs, constantly pushing the boundaries of what I could create.
I began taking orders for birthdays, weddings, and other events, pouring my heart and soul into each creation. The process of conceptualizing, baking, and decorating became my therapy, allowing me to escape the stresses of everyday life and immerse myself in a world of sweetness and creativity.
Today, my brand stands as a testament to my journey from a home baker to a professional cake artist. I am grateful for the support and encouragement I have received along the way, especially from my family and friends who believed in my talent from the very beginning.
Baking has not only provided me with a fulfilling career but has also allowed me to connect with people on a deeper level.
As I reflect on my journey, I am reminded that sometimes, our true passions are discovered by chance. What started as a simple act of baking for my children's birthdays has transformed into a lifelong pursuit of creating edible works of art. And I am grateful every day for the opportunity to share my love for baking with the world.

"I am glad to have come across Caked by Catherine’s instagram page over 3 years ago. Ever since I tasted Catherine’s cake I have never looked back. Her cakes are the best inside and out, there is so many flavours to choose from too. I love how her cakes are so moist and flavourful and you can’t fault her attention to detail. I have built a trust relationships with Catherine where I just tell her the colour scheme (sometimes) , theme (without being specific of design) and flavour and she will come up with an amazing masterpiece. It’s a good feeling having to trust someone to make your cake with a minimum brief and not have to worry about the outcome.
A lot of people who have tasted Catherine’s cake want a referral! I cannot recommend Catherine enough not only for her delicious cakes but also for her exceptional service. You cannot fault the experience from the time you place an order to the time you pick it up. P.
